Description
The FX DRS Tactical 600 is the tactical scion of the FX DRS family. It stands out with a solid handguard, which has a full-length Weaver/Picatinny scoperail on the top. At the bottom is an Arca-Swiss accessory rail, also full-length. There are also perfectly positioned holes for use with QD belt mounts.
In addition, the fully adjustable 2-stage trigger has an improved trigger blade and the FX DRS Tactical 600 has been given its own Tactical Power plenum with a capacity of 35cc, on top of the 9cc in the block itself. Here, optimised air flow ensures maximum performance and minimum air consumption.
Another salient feature is that the FX DRS Tactical 600 features a connection for a Mil-Spec buffer tube, to which an AR15-style stock can be attached. Both are not included, as there is often your own specific preference for these. We have numerous flasks and buffer tubes in stock for these, but the FX DRS Tactical 600 is also fine to use without them. The FX UG-1 grip, which does come mounted as standard, allows you to use it as a compressed air gun.
Features of the FX DRS Tactical 600
Internally, the DRS is packed with the latest technology in compressed air rifles. And of course, it already has multiple fine-tuning options as standard; from an externally adjustable regulator to adjustable spring preload of the hammer spring. We pick out the highlights for you:
DRS air reservoir in barrel sleeve
The FX DRS is the first air rifle from FX to see the compressed air reservoir integrated into the barrel jacket. No more cylinder or bottle under the barrel and this has the advantage that the overall profile of the compressed air rifle has become significantly lower. This gives less obstruction in the shooting position, but also ensures that transport and storage of the FX DRS Tactical 600 require less space. The reservoir capacity is 260 cc.
Adjustable regulator
For the FX DRS to fire every shot with equal pressure, this compressed air rifle uses an AMP MkII regulator. This regulator is externally adjustable, making it child's play to perfectly match the pressure to the pellet or slug being used. This gives the highest possible purity and guarantees ultimate shot consistency.
Adjustable hammer spring
If there is no butt attached to the system, the spring preload of the hammer spring can be adjusted. If you give the hammer more spring preload, the valve will stay open longer, allowing a larger amount of air to pass through. Conversely, a lower hammer spring preload gives a shorter passage time. You can experiment with this, so that you keep a driving pressure behind the projectile in the barrel for as long as possible, without a disruptive overpressure on exit that can cause imbalance.
Tactical Power plenum
FX is known for paying a lot of attention to the plenum. This is the air supply chamber between the regulator and the valve. It houses the portion of regulated compressed air used in its entirety for one projectile. Larger projectiles, longer barrels and higher speeds require more air to allow the pellet or slug to leave the barrel at the desired speed. Conversely, too much air supply is a waste of air and too much air still blowing out of the barrel can affect cleanliness. The FX DRS Tactical 600 has a 35cc Tactical Power plenum. Perfect for pellets, but also fine for slugs.
Superior STX running system
The barrel system has a removable Superior STX liner in the barrel that features pulls and pitches pressed in through the outside. This gives the inside of the liner a very smooth surface and nicely flowing pulls and fields. All this ensures minimal drag and a good seal around the pellet or slug. The barrel has a ½ UNF thread with thread protector for mounting an optional silencer.
Adjustable trigger
To get the very best out of the FX DRS Tactical 600, it comes with a fully adjustable trigger. This allows you to set the trigger exactly how you want it to feel, so that the feel matches your shooting style exactly. Both the first and second stages are adjustable and the trigger blade is adjustable in distance and height, but can also be rotated for perfect ergonomics.
Loading and filling the FX DRS Tactical 600
With the magazine in place, it is simply a matter of pulling back the very smooth tensioning lever on the right side to load the FX DRS through. And to replenish the air supply, there is a filler hole on the right side into which you very easily insert a filler nipple.
Note: The FX DRS is delivered in an average state of tune, making it universally usable. The maximum values given in the specifications are achievable by using the various adjustment options on the air rifle.
