The R44 is built to travel comfortably with medium-range rifles and equipment. Unlike traditional foam inserts, the DAKA GRID does not retain moisture, dirt or other contaminants. It is lighter, endlessly adaptable and significantly stronger. The DAKA GRID is made of individual end panels of expanded polypropylene (EPP), centre panels and DAKA blocks to divide the case into compartments. The DAKA blocks can be easily pressed into the GRID panels and can be removed and reinstalled just as easily to meet the needs of whatever you are carrying. The R44 includes 8 triple blocks and 8 double blocks to customise the layout, and additional blocks are available if needed.

The DAKA Hard Case's rounded, double-walled corners provide strength and reduce jamming during transport, while bumper zones are created for extra shock resistance that also serve as storage compartments for other necessary equipment. The water- and weather-resistant gasket also keeps out dust and moisture and provides self-levelling pressure control, protecting the contents from the effects of external environmental factors. The Hard Case's injection moulding technology offers greater case strength and integrity compared to other conventional cases, with durability and drop performance that can withstand the toughest shipping, travel and intensive use environments.

The latch design, together with the increased rigidity of the housing, makes the latches easy to use and incredibly robust. Each latch features a large, easy-to-use push-button release that can be activated with one hand. When pressed, the latch opens and remains in the open position, and can be used as a handle to open the lid. The latch closes with a simple downward pressure anywhere on the latch body, and there is a clearly audible "click" when locked. The innovative latch design also features a redesigned locking system. Each latch on the DAKA Hard Case contains one lock grommet, and once a lock is installed (we recommend a lock with a 5/16-inch shackle and an inside clearance of 1-1.5 inches), the latch cannot be opened until the latch is removed, securing the entire case. In addition, each latch is fitted with a lock housing and a zip that allows the user to attach the lock to the case, protecting the lock and the case from damage due to impact. For this purpose, the Hard Case comes with four Velcro straps.

Nestable lugs provide a positive interface when DAKA Hard Cases are stacked on top of each other, and two built-in belt recesses keep ratchet straps in place and secure during use. There are two large main handles that are easy to manipulate under load, and a third, integrated handle near the wheels makes the case easier to move and allows the case to stand vertically on its own. The handles have cross-sections modelled after Magpul pistol grips for greater comfort and control, and are fully recessed into the case's frame. They are designed to remain open once extended and closed when not in use. The wheels are designed for smooth rolling and long life, with reduced noise, friction and dirt ingress thanks to ball bearings, rubber casing and reinforced polymer hubs.

This R44 case has interior dimensions of 112 x 42 x 14 cm and can accommodate up to two standard 16-inch rifles, heavy carbines and other similar firearms.
