The FX Pocket Chrono V2 speedometer is a compact and very easy-to-use speedometer that uses doppler radar, just like a laser gun. In simple terms, the doppler effect is the emission of microwaves that bounce back from an intended target. In this case, that is the pellet. The difference in frequency of the reflected signal then gives an accurate estimate of the speed at which the pellet is travelling. Because it works with radar, it will measure the speed just as well in the dark as in the light and it therefore does not matter what conditions you are shooting in. It measures speeds of up to 1250 FPS extremely accurately.
There is a light on the side of the speedometer that lights up blue when it registers a shot.
It is possible to read the measured information on an FX chronograph display, which is available separately. But it is also possible - and perhaps just as easy - to read the data on your smartphone. In fact, you can download the free app for your smartphone, where you can store rifle profiles and find much more information related to the shot. The FX Pocket Chrono V2 speedometer connects to your smartphone via Bluetooth.
The speedometer measures 50x39x60 mm and it weighs just 78 grams. There is a Weaver/Picatinny connection on the speedometer as standard, making it easy to connect it to an accessory rail. You also get another kind of mounting with which you can attach it to your rifle scope's objective, for example, using elastic straps. This ensures it sits securely on your rifle and you always get reliable results.
The FX Pocket Chrono V2 speedometer has a Lithium-ion battery that you can easily charge with a USB-C cable. That USB-C connection is hidden under a rubber cover.
